Without the resources for formal culinary education and facing the daily choice between working and eating, he learned through hands-on experience, observing, persevering, and earning his place in demanding kitchens.

For over 36 years of work and more than 25 years as a chef, Alex honed his skills with discipline, humility, and a clear mindset: every challenge was a learning experience. He never settled, always seeking to learn more, to move forward, to grow, and to prove that constant effort pays off.

Beyond the kitchen, Alex is a deeply family-oriented man. He cooked for his children his entire life, even working multiple shifts to provide for them. His family, his nephew, and his team are the driving force behind Bougainvillea.
